  • round

    ROUND MODERN BRILLIANT DIAMONDS

The 'Round Modern Brilliant’ is the most popular shaped diamond for engagement rings, with more than two-thirds of buyers opting for this shape. Its fifty-seven facets are specifically cut to optimise light performance, meaning it is a superb choice for those looking to maximise brilliance, fire and sparkle. This is the industry standard - all other types are known as ‘fancy’ shaped diamonds.

  • princess

    PRINCESS DIAMONDS

The 'Princess' is the most popular of the fancy shaped diamonds. Much like the Round it is designed to maximise brilliance through its seventy-six facets, so often appears to be the brightest of the fancy diamonds. It’s refined square shape will be very appealing to those looking for something out of the ordinary - and price wise it is cheaper per-carat than a Round.

  • EMERALD DIAMONDS

The ‘Emerald’ is a step-cut fancy diamond. It's slender, elegant shape produces a hall of mirrors effect, creating broader flashes of white light instead of the flashes of brilliance and sparkle you would get from a Round. Due to their larger, more open table they will show up color and accentuate clarity features - so it is important to go with higher grades than you might otherwise need with a Round diamond. Our recommendation would be to choose VS1 (or above) in clarity and above H in color.

  • marquise

    MARQUISE DIAMONDS

The 'Marquise' like the Oval is a modified brilliant cut, so it possesses a similar brilliance and fire to the Round - however with a more elongated, curved shaping. For its carat weighting a Marquise diamond has one of the largest surface areas of any shape, maximizing the perception of size. Due to its propensity to show up color and accentuate clarity features - our recommendation would be to choose VS1 (or above) in clarity and above H in color.

  • oval

    OVAL DIAMONDS

The 'Oval' is a modified brilliant cut, so it possesses a similar brilliance and fire to the Round, but with a more unique and unusual shaping. A superb choice for someone who likes a lot of sparkle and wants a rarer, more unusual shape.

  • radiant

    RADIANT DIAMONDS

The 'Radiant' possesses signature cropped corners, combining the shape of an Emerald with the brightness of a Round. It's seventy facets are positioned in a way to maximise brilliance and sparkle, more so than its Emerald counterpart. Our recommendation would be to choose VS1 (or above) in clarity and above H in color.

  • pear

    PEAR DIAMONDS

The 'Pear' is also a modified brilliant cut - a combination of a Round and a Marquise, with a tapered point on one end creating a teardrop like shaping.

  • heart

    HEART DIAMONDS

The 'Heart' shape is more popular in earrings and necklaces than engagement rings. It is one of the most difficult shapes for cutters to produce. If you intend to buy heart shaped jewellery, we would recommend you buy an excellent grading of symmetry and a carat size larger than 0.70ct, or else you may struggle to see its distinctive shape.

  • CUSHION DIAMONDS

The 'Cushion' has rounded corners and can come in a more square or more rectangular shaping, depending on the length-to-width dimensions of the stone you choose. This was the industry standard for over a century and many people still are drawn to its distinctive, timeless antique like appearance.
